Gary R. Wright
Data Operations Manager

Experience
Since Mr. Wright joined Fugro Consultants, Inc. in 1992, he has served in a variety of roles within the company. Mr. Wright has collected a variety of data for the Southern Region Long-Term Pavement Performance project. This involved traveling across the southeastern United States to collect performance data on several hundred test sections. Mr. Wright has maintained and operated a KJ Law profilometer and a Dynatest Falling Weight Deflectometer, and has conducted numerous distress surveys at LTPP test sections.

Mr. Wright has worked with data in the office, performing such tasks as tracking, entry, processing, performing quality control checks and archiving of data. In this capacity, he became familiar with a variety of software packages and with the Oracle database maintained by Fugro-BRE for the FHWA's LTPP project. Mr. Wright is the traffic data manager insuring that all of the traffic data collected on the LTPP test sections are processed, checked, archived, and loaded into the database. Mr. Wright assists the Database Manager with the operation and maintenance of the Southern Region database.

Currently, Mr. Wright also serves as the Data Operations Manager and overseas a team of  data technicians. In this role, he is responsible for overseeing all aspects of data management as well as coordinating and fulfilling the data needs for all departments. He trains and supervises new technicians for both field- and office-related duties. In addition, Mr. Wright assists the IT department with maintenance and operation of Fugro Consultants, Inc. servers and computer network.

Mr. Wright has also been certified as a Distress Rater for the Texas Department of Transportation's Pavement Management Information System. Under this project, Mr. Wright worked in the field, performing visual distress surveys of roadways.

Mr. Wright is also responsible for the development and implementation of the automated traffic data collection for the state of Tennessee. Under this project, Mr. Wright oversees the automated collecting, archiving, formatting, processing, quality control checking, and archiving of traffic data. He also assisted in the development of an MS Access database for the processed traffic data, and is responsible for it's operation and maintenance.
